Trailers are sold by exterior footprint, so the dimensions here are the bare interior: wall construction takes 2 to 4 inches from the nominal width, and a 7-foot trailer runs about 82 inches inside. The planner accounts for insulation and paneling when it derives the finished interior, and you can replace any number with your own measurements. Payload figures are typical ratings for each size and vary by axle package.

Sold by the outside
A cargo trailer is advertised by its exterior footprint, and the interior is smaller than the name suggests: a nominal 7×14 runs about 82 inches wide inside. The templates state the bare interior, so what you plan against is the space you actually have.
A clean rectangle
A trailer has flat walls, square corners, and no cab or engine to plan around, so the whole floor is buildable. Place your own walls, doors, and windows where the build needs them, and the layout works from a blank box.
Weight is the tow limit
Each template carries a payload figure for its size. With Pro you see the added weight of everything you place against it while you plan, and the same total is what your tow vehicle has to be rated to pull.
Common questions
Which trailer sizes are in the planner?+
6×10, 6×12, 7×14, 7×16, 8.5×16, and 8.5×20. If yours is a different size, enter the interior length, width, and height from your own tape measure, and the grid, snapping, and payload math follow your numbers.
Why is the interior smaller than the listed size?+
Trailers are sold by exterior footprint. Wall framing and paneling take 2 to 4 inches from the nominal width, and interior height varies by model. The templates state the bare interior from typical builds, and measuring your own trailer is always the better path.
Can I share the design?+
Every design can become a public link. Anyone you send it to can orbit the build in 3D and walk it in first person, in the browser, with no install and no account.
